Because Tampines Is Too Far Away From The Rest, UberEATS Is Launching It As An Independent Cluster

UberEATS at the start was only available to Singaporeans located within central Singapore. What it means to most is that, to try this new food delivery service by Uber, they would have to order it at work.

In recent months though, UberEATS have since expanded their area of coverage rapidly. This came in the form of enabling deliveries to areas such as Bukit Timah, Novena, Katong and Serangoon, places which are still not that far off from the Central Business District coverage they started with.

Well UberEATS has now announced that for their next move, they will be venturing further East.

People in Tampines will be glad to know that UberEATS will start their delivery services in the area this coming Thursday, 20th October 2016.

I wish I could tell you what restaurants will be made available, but unfortunately your guess is as good as ours, as you can only find out on Thursday itself.

No worries though, all the must-have favourites you can imagine from the top restaurants in Tampines are sure to be at your fingertips, if UberEATS’ track record with the other areas is anything to go by.

Services Will Be Independent

With UberEATS’ commitment to deliver you food wherever you are located, this new cluster in Tampines will be backed by its own infrastructure. This means that the entire service area of Tampines will be independent of its counterpart located in central Singapore.

With this, people in Tampines can expect their orders to be fulfilled more efficiently, and importantly, have them delivered in a timely manner.

If their little experiment in Tampines turns into a major win, I’m guessing we can hope to see similar plans in opening up independent clusters in the north and western parts of Singapore.

UberEATS is also holding a little game of chance for users of its service.

The fifth person in Tampines who successfully makes an order will get it delivered by Evan Graj, General Manager of UberEATS Singapore!

Evan, a recent addition to the UberEATS Singapore team back in July, is no stranger to the food delivery business, having had a similar startup of his own back in London.

Aside from getting food delivered by the GM himself, you will also receive UberEATS credits, Uber credits, and ‘other goodies’.

Of course, UberEATS also have a promo code to go along with this announcement.

Simply enter TAMPINESEATS when you order to enjoy $10 off on your orders. Unfortunately the code is only for new users of the app, and lasts until the end of the year.

Deliveries within the Tampines service area starts at 11:00a.m., this Thursday, 20 October 2016.

Looks like UberEATS is turning up the heat on the competition, with the consumers benefiting overall.
