You know that feeling when you see something and all the emotions just flood you?
We live in a digital generation where our daily conversations aren’t complete unless you have a few emojis and memes—because nothing sends the message across clearer than a good gif.
If you’ve got that good creativity running through your blood, 10 seconds is more than enough to relay a message.
Now here comes a challenge to see whether you can do it in 5.
Pushing The Limit
The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), an agency under the Ministry of Health is all about making our country a destination that’s associated with world class healthcare services—and now they’re looking to invite us to share their cause too.
They’re currently running a campaign called Reality Check which involves you using those creative juices to share your health and wellness experiences.
The theme of the campaign is “The Beauty Of Health & Wellness” so it’s up to you to interpret what health and wellness means to you.
The catch? It has to be crammed in just 5 seconds.
If you impress them enough, MHTC’s giving out some cool rewards to not only the top 3, but to 2 weekly winners who catch their attention enough as well.
Here are some video examples just to give you a feel of what you can play around with:

How To Be A Part Of This
Joining this contest is pretty simple, all you really need is something to record a video with and an Instagram profile.
The things you need to do to apply is:
- Follow the official account on Instagram here.
- Like the official Facebook page here.
- Figure out what health and wellness means to you and film a video around it.
- Upload your 5-second video on your Instagram account and make sure it is set on public.
- Include the hashtags #medtourismmy #check3 and #realitycheckmy
A panel of judges from MHTC will be reviewing all the videos and picking out the winners based on a few criteria such as originality, creativity, engagement, and the use of the theme.
You’ll have a bit of time to prepare as the challenge is set to run from 31st August to 31st October.
If testing the limits of your creativity is not enticing enough, here are some prizes worth up to RM24,000 that MHTC is offering up for grabs.
The champion will walk away with a grand prize of a GoPro Hero 4 along with free sessions for some aesthetic treatments like facials and dental provided by Beverly Wilshire Medical Centre. Runner ups and 2 weekly winners will also be receiving vouchers for these aesthetic treatments too.
You’re allowed to send a few entries but you’ll only be valid to win a prize once. There’s no rounding up system so make sure to keep it under the time limit.
It’s all about saying everything you need to within that time limit. 5 seconds is not really long, so make every second count.
