The war of the telcos is going on as strong as ever, and Singtel is not about to lose its customers to competitors without a fight.

Today, it announced the launch of its upgraded XO plans, which aim to give consumers not just more data, but more affordable devices, and entertainment as well.

Here’s a breakdown of the plans:

On top of the rather generous data allowance is the inclusion of complimentary HBO GO subscription for up to 2 years.

HBO GO is HBO’s answer to Netflix, and typically costs $13.98/month.

Said Gan Siok Hoon, Singtel’s vice president for mobile marketing & sales, consumer Singapore about the launch: “Singtel customers typically use their mobile data to watch about nine hours of video content each month. Smartphones are fast becoming the go-to device to stream entertainment content and our new XO plans enable our customers to enjoy non-stop entertainment anytime and anywhere.”

Singtel is also rewarding early adopters of the new XO plans.

Customers who sign up from now until 31 Mar 2019 will get additional monthly complimentary mobile data, with free 5GB for the XO 48 Plan, free 10GB for the XO 78 Plan, and free 20GB for the XO 108 Plan.

This also means that if you were to sign up after 31 Mar, you’ll only get to enjoy 5GB, 30GB, and 50GB under each plan.

The New XO Vs. Singtel’s Other Plans

Doing a quick comparison on Singtel’s website of their Combo and SIM Only plans vs. the upgraded XO, it seems like their new offering would be the best fit for those who:

  1. Use a lot of data (perhaps for social media apps, the biggest culprits of rapid data usage)
  2. Enjoy content from on-demand video platforms
  3. Don’t require as much talktime and/or SMS
