Singapore e-scooter sharing firm Telepod has just partnered up with on-demand logistics platform Lalamove.

This will allow 15,000 Lalamove driver-partners to access long-term leases for Telepod’s e-scooters, which they can use for last-mile transport in delivery jobs.

According to Telepod, this helps Lalamove drivers avoid inconveniences and additional charges from ERP, parking fees, and traffic jams.

They also won’t have to worry about running out of juice, as they can recharge their e-scooters at any of Telepod’s designated battery-swapping kiosks.

The kiosks were recently introduced when Telepod partnered Foodpanda last month, allowing their delivery partners to purchase ‘delivery passes’ for Telepod’s e-scooters at a special rate.

Likewise, this new tie-up with Lalamove will give its drivers an exclusive discounted rate to lease e-scooters from Telepod.

On top of that, they will also receive rebate incentives from Lalamove for completing deliveries using Telepod’s e-scooters.

Telepod assures that their e-scooters are “ruggedised” to handle heavy usage for parcel delivery with no problem.

“Long term scooter leasing is a huge untapped market,” said Telepod Chief Operating Officer Louis Goh.

He shared the firm’s hopes that the use of e-scooters for deliveries can reduce transport costs, traffic congestion and carbon emissions.

“We are very excited and looking forward to offer this enterprise solution to more food and parcel delivery companies, solving their last-mile problem with value-added services,” he added.
