4 stand-out features we liked about the Huawei GT 3 Pro Watch Ceramic

TLDR: Full video review available below!

Recently, we were able to get our hands (and wrists) on the 43mm Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Ceramic

Beyond familiar smartwatch capabilities, we also discovered some cool features the Watch GT 3 Pro Ceramic had to offer. Here’s a quick breakdown.

1. Its nanocrystalline ceramic material

One of the first things you’ll notice about this smartwatch is its distinctive ceramic material. The nanocrystalline ceramic material in pure white (achieved with diamond powder polishing) and gold stainless steel bezel come together to form an aesthetically pleasing look and feel.

Other than being visually appealing, ceramic is classified as an inorganic and nonmetallic material, giving it more durability (although it’s more brittle than other commonly used materials for watches). It’s also impervious to ultraviolet rays from the sun, which prevents fading.

2. Its durability and water-resistance

With its IP68 and 5ATM water-resistance rating, this Huawei watch can be worn in swimming pools, along the coast, and even for freediving as deep as 30 metres.

In the freedive mode, in particular, it is able to capture data such as depth, speed, and duration of time spent underwater.

While we’re on the subject of exercises, did we mention this watch comes with over a hundred workout modes?

3. Its changing watch faces depending on time of day

By keeping track of when the sun sets, the watch is able to sync up with your external environments and switch up its face when it sees fit. It turns on dark mode automatically, and switches back when the sun rises.

Similar to how dark mode on phones work, this should hopefully prevent you from getting blinded by your watch when you activate it in the middle of the night.

4. Its ability to record your heart’s electrical signal

Unlike its predecessor the Huawei Watch GT 3, the Watch GT 3 Pro comes with electrocardiogram (ECG) capabilities.

ECG is used to detect one’s heart rhythm, which subsequently helps diagnose and monitor conditions that affect the heart.

Although the ECG feature is not available in the Malaysian market currently, users should be able to make use of it through an update once regulators give their approval.
