Sony goes pink with new 1000X series colourway in Le Sserafim collab, here’s a first look
In a previous Vulcan Post review of the WF-1000XM5 earbuds, one of the few drawbacks we felt was the limited selection of colours.
They only came in black and platinum silver, so we’re glad to see the introduction of the new Smoky Pink variant.
Consumers now have more options to choose from, addressing the need for more variety in personalising their audio gear.
In partnership with K-Pop girl group Le Sserafim, the WH-1000XM5 headphones and WF-1000XM5 earbuds models are available in a Smoky Pink finish, adding a stylish update to the popular audio devices.
A colour that matches the group’s aesthetic
The Smoky Pink colour offers a refined and subtle option for users looking to complement their style and chic aesthetic.
With soft, powdery undertones and a matte texture, this new colour option fits seamlessly with the trend-forward aesthetics of Le Sserafim.
The collaboration with the group—comprised of members Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae—brings a fashionable touch to Sony’s premium noise-cancelling headphones and earbuds.
The simple-looking and sleek build WH-1000XM5 headphones were previously available in black, platinum silver, and midnight blue.
Collaboration with Le Sserafim
The partnership with Le Sserafim is part of Sony’s For The Music campaign, which aims to build stronger connections between artists and listeners.
Le Sserafim, known for their bold performances and modern style, has become a significant influence in the music world, with multiple entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and 200 charts and a global fanbase of over 20 million followers.
The campaign also features Le Sserafim’s latest song, “Crazy,” from their fourth mini-album of the same name, released on August 30.
“The connection we have with our fans is everything, and we can’t wait for them to experience our music with Sony’s awesome Smoky Pink 1000X headphones and earbuds,” the group shared in a press release, expressing their excitement about the collaboration.
Maintaining high standards of audio quality
While the new colour option adds an aesthetic appeal, the WH-1000XM5 headphones and WF-1000XM5 earbuds retain Sony’s high standards for audio quality and noise-cancelling performance.
The company claimed that both models are engineered to deliver superior sound and immersive listening experiences, making them suitable for music lovers who prioritise both design and functionality.
Some of our colleagues are fans of the lineup, even making their own purchases, so we can vouch for their quality.
Sony has priced the WF-1000XM5 earbuds at RM1,399 and the WH-1000XM5 headphones at RM1,799 across all colour variants. Customers can purchase both models, including the new Smoky Pink edition, through Sony’s official website.
