Like it or not, when it comes to Apple and Android, there will always be users and supporters for both sides. One of the biggest announcements from Apple over the past few months has undeniably been the long awaited Apple Watch. We have written much about it too, and even spoken to an early Singapore user who managed to get his hands on the Apple Watch, who gave a less than positive review.
For Android users, if you are looking for a smartwatch and a Samsung alternative, ASUS has just revealed a new Android Wear smartwatch over the weekend at their Computex trade show in Taipei. The new ZenWatch 2 is an improved version of its predecessor, the ZenWatch, which has been regarded as one of the best Android Wear options available on the market. ASUS’ latest offering comes in two strap sizes — 22m and 18mm — and in silver, gun metal or rose gold.
Here’s some images of the ZenWatch 2:
Like the Apple Watch, the ZenWatch 2 sports a digital crown which allows you to interact with the watch. However, the crown cannot be wound — it’s merely used to wake the device up. The ZenWatch 2 also comes with a magnetic charger cable with improved charging time. It is also water and dust-resistant — a feature that most sports enthusiasts would definitely welcome.
There has not been any official statement from ASUS regarding its release date yet, so we will just have to keep our eyes open for the announcement.
