While we all are gifted with talents that help us stand out in different arenas of life, a few of us are set apart for fame and celebrity, I know I’m not. I’m aware of the fact that I am not cut out for “celeb” work and over the years, I have come to accept that fact. Maybe you still believe you can be famous. You may have even tried becoming an actor/actress/dancer/model/dj/producer, and all the other “careers” the youth of today are pursuing, only to be disappointed. Are you about to give up? Wait! Don’t!

There is one platform, where you could actually make it. Go ahead and take a guess. If you guessed “YouTube”, you’re right. So, what are you waiting for? Oh, yeah, you don’t have a plan. But don’t worry about it, cause here are a few steps you can follow to get a head start on your path of becoming YouTube’s equivalent of Brad Pitt.

1.Lights!

The first thing that you need to do is find some light, some inner light. You need to figure out why you want to be successful, what you can do to be successful and what success means to you.

You need to have an end in mind and that end will determine the strategy you can take on your path to stardom. Do you want to be famous just to be known? Do you want to be famous so that you can get people to buy some of your products? Is this how you want to make a living?

You then need to figure out what you are good at and what makes you, “You”. Your talents and your personality is what will draw people to your videos. Are you funny? Are you a prankster? Are you hot? Would you like to teach people design/programming/music/something people like learning? Are you funny, hot and do you teach?? If you do, you just found your first subscriber.

Next, you need to find an appropriate method to measure your success. Are you going to rely on the number of video views/likes/subscribers/comments/shares? Or are you going to be relying on all of them? Once, you pick a method of measurement; you will have a clearer idea of how people respond to your content

2.Camera!

After you have figured out the answers to all the existential questions that relate to your stardom, you need to get down and dirty with the actual creative process, so go, grab your video camera or your smartphone and start recording.

You need to strike the perfect balance between what you want people to see and what people “really” want to see you do. You can only reach that level of perfection when you are consistent with what you do and through constructive feedback.

However, for starters, if you are making a tutorial, make it simple, clear and easy. There is nothing worse than watching a tutorial video that has a low resolution, an irritating voice spitting out complicated jargon, and a horribly long video length. Make sure your tutorials are short and sweet.

If you are going to make funny videos, make sure they are actually funny and random and use the jump effect for your videos. If you are making pranks, make sure you follow this principle, “The riskier and braver, the better”. That being said, make sure you avoid being thrown in jail. Shout out to Vitaly.

3.Action!

Now, that you have created your video, it’s now time for people to see you in action. Make sure you create a channel on YouTube, give it an appropriate name and make it your own. Before you upload your video to your channel, make sure you edit your video, ensure that you remove all the things that are unnecessary and keep it simple, original and fun.

Give your video a catchy title; include popular words, if possible. You can do so by placing important keywords at the front of your video titles. You can also include them in your descriptions and tags.

If you are quite sure that your video is going to be a hit and that you’re going to be discovered like Justin Bieber, you can use the “Featured Videos” service to get your video seen by many people in a short amount of time.

Don’t forget to let your friends know about your video on social media, they would kind enough to check out your video and provide you with some criticism.

4.Keep at It!

You need to keep adding fun and creative videos to your channel because it’s highly unlikely that you would get millions of views overnight unless your video is really, really good or hilarious. Its only time that you will get you to a level of perfection and to a level of notoriety, that you deserve.

Now, that you have an idea of what to do, grab a camera and get to work! May the force be with you!
