Lee Zii Jia’s victory in the All England Badminton Championships is yet another ray of hope for Malaysia’s badminton legacy that Chong Wei has left behind.
Previously with Chong Wei’s victories, we’ve had public holidays but for Zii Jia’s victory this time, Malaysians are swamped with free goodies from brands.
However, the trend with these brands now is that you’ll only get free stuff if your surname is Lee. Most of these freebies are also given at a limited time, so we compiled 12 brands that you can still claim your goodies from as of March 23, 2021.
It started with The Beer Factory who announced they were giving away free Tiger beer for those whose surname is Lee, if you present your IC when dining in at any their outlets.
1. Fifty5 Kitchen & Bar
Located on the ground floor of Plaza Arkadia, this bar is giving away 1 free mug of Carlsberg beer that can be redeemed from March 22 to 24. Their opening hours are from 3PM to 12AM.
2. Yomie’s Rice x Yogurt Bintulu
While there are many Yomie’s fans out there, only the Bintulu outlet will be giving away 1 free purple rice yogurt drink that’s redeemable today. The outlet opens until 11PM tonight so hopefully you have enough time after work to claim a free drink.
3. CHAT TEA
Another F&B brand in Bintulu is also offering a free drink (selected drinks only) for anyone with the surname Lee, which will only be available tomorrow, March 24.
Their opening hours are from 10AM to 9.30PM, and this offer is available at all their outlets in Times Square MegaMall, Parkcity, The Spring in Bintulu, and Star MegaMall in Sibu.
4. Golden Hover Furniture
Some non-F&B brands even took it to another level to celebrate the Lee clan. Golden Hover here offered a free baby cot for those whose baby’s surname is Lee and was born on March 21, 2021 specifically.
5. Homevest Living
Baby Lee’s aren’t the only one benefiting from this victory, though. For adults with the Lee surname specifically born on March 21, you’re entitled to a free 3-month rental stay at Homevest Living’s properties, which you can start applying for from today until March 31, 2021.
6. The Cakery
If you’re craving some desserts and are staying in the Klang Valley, The Cakery here is offering a free “deliver-Lee” period for those who purchase from them anytime between today until March 26.
No minimum order is required and the delivery time is up to you as well. The good thing about this promotion, though, is that you for once don’t have to be a Lee to enjoy this freebie.
7. The BARN Wine Bar
Much like The Cakery, you also don’t need to be a Lee to enjoy a free glass of wine with a purchase of any of their a la carte food. However, your name does have to begin with an “L” for you to enjoy this freebie at any of their outlets.
This offer is limited to one glass of wine per customer and is available until March 24. Their opening hours are from 11AM until 11.59PM.
8. KTIC Group
If you happen to be a Lee and are thinking of changing your non-Unifi telco, you can now actually do that for 3 months with KTIC Group who’s giving out free postpaid Unifi mobile from any TM outlets.
9. Makan Dulu
This dimsum delivery is giving away free dimsum and pau if your surname is Lee, or if you’re not one but your orders are over RM22.
Their next delivery is happening this Friday, so you’ll have to place your order before Thursday 2PM for you to get that one pack of free dimsum and pau this coming Friday. The delivery fee is RM10 as of now and is not included in the promo, and they only deliver throughout the Klang Valley.
10. Sae Ma Eul BBQ
To Lee’s who are craving Korean BBQ recently, Sae Ma Eul BBQ in SS15 is giving away one free ice cream for Lee’s dining in with this outlet today until tomorrow. Their opening hours are from 12PM until 12AM.
11. Prizon
If you never tire of Tiger beer, here’s another place that’s offering 1 free mug for Lee’s from today until March 25. Prizon is located in Taman Sri Bahtera, Cheras and are open from 4PM until 3AM.
12. D 9 Club Triang
Lee’s in Pahang who are also looking to get a free beer today, you can do so in D 9 Club Triang. They’re opened from 8:30PM until 3AM.
Honorary Mentions
Some interesting brands offering free goodies that have already expired yesterday were ONE Condoms, who gave away 1 pack of Super Sensitive 3’s to anyone with the surname Lee.
The famous Vanilla Crepe had also joined in the day before to give out 1 free slice crepe to anyone with the surname Lee at select outlets, but unfortunately, this was only available for a very limited 3 hours yesterday.
