Update 23rd May: This event is postponed until a later date.

For friends and readers who have been following us for the past 2 years, you would be familiar with our biannual meetup session – The Tipping Point. We are excited to share with you that we are doing our first meetup this year (after a short hiatus)!

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, an idea-monger, or are simply looking for a good time, join us for a night of networking, drinks, and insights from our speakers to learn how best to turn an idea into something much more.

Our third installment of Tipping Point in Singapore will feature award winning filmmaker Ray Pang, GrabCar Driver Philip and honestbee runner Shermaine. We will be discussing about Singapore’s cost of living and how one can make extra money through the shared economy.

Here’s a bit more about the speakers:

1. Ray Pang is an award-winning filmmaker, both locally and internationally.

He represented Singapore in the inaugural World Event Young Artists 2012 (WEYA) – a global art & culture event held in Nottingham, United Kingdom – organised alongside the London 2012 Olympics. Ray was invited for a director’s spotlight on the “Asian Typhoon” programme at the 8th Sapporo’s film festival and was the runner up at the Yahoo! Singapore 9 entertainment category.

Ray is also behind VOS Asia, a social docu-series, aimed to find out the thoughts and feelings of the people and gain a better understanding of how individuals feel about issues that we face on a daily basis. You can watch the docu-series here:

2. Philip is a property agent, and is currently driving for GrabCar.

Since the market has cooled off, he is semi-retired and drives with Grab as a way to earn extra supplementary income and keeps his mind active by meeting new people. He started driving with GrabCar since October 2015. He views driving as a way of doing the public a service, by providing friendly and service-oriented transportation.

3. Shermaine has been with honestbee since March 2015. Started as a shopper, she became a supervisor after her son went to childcare. Presently, Shermaine manages shoppers and coordinates orders to ensure smooth operation. Shermaine joined honestbee because of its flexible working hours, and love for grocery-shopping.
