Accidentally sent out an awkward chat message to the recipient at the other side? Ever wished you could recall a text message?
Now you can! Mobile messaging app WeChat, which originates from China, has just released a new Message Recall feature. Message Recall feature allows you to recall any message sent within the last two minute. Simply hold the message and tap the “Recall” button – Voila, it’s like the message was never sent!
The new update of the app also brings several other updates along with the Message Recall Feature:
- Tags for Contacts: Tag contacts with keywords like “Co-worker,” “In-law” or “BFF” so you can find people in a flash – particularly useful when creating group chats. To start, go to the “Contacts” tab and select a name > Tap the Settings icon above > Press “Set Remarks and Tags” and insert keywords for the contact in the “Tag” field.
- Favorite Messages in Bulk: Save all your favourite messages into one package so you can quickly view them without scouring through the messages individually. To use this feature, simply long press a message > Select “More” > Choose multiple messages > Tap the “Favorite Messages” icon below to save.
- Easily slide between your favourite features and you can use the upgraded search bar
- When connected to Wi-Fi, your photos will automatically download.
With close to 100 million daily users under its belt, WeChat has been actively expanding its service especially to users in Southeast Asia.
Just recently, it has entered into a partnership with taxi booking app Easy Taxi, allowing WeChat users to book taxis directly via the messaging app. New users can download the WeChat app and simply follow Easy Taxi’s official WeChat account (WeChat ID: EasyTaxiSGP) to be able to use the taxi booking function.
