Avid followers of Vulcan Post would know this: we keep a close lookout for taxi booking apps in Singapore. We have written much about third party taxi booking apps such as GrabTaxi, Easy Taxi, Uber, and of course, the official ComfortDelgro app.
And today, we are going to talk about just that.
2 weeks ago, ComfortDelgro released some astonishing numbers: for the year ending 31st December 2014, a total of 35.6 million taxi bookings were made (10 per cent higher than in 2013). Half of these bookings were made through its taxi booking app. There were also 2.5 million downloads of ComfortDelGro’s booking app in 2014, showing that they are still the king of taxi booking apps in Singapore.
Along with the announcement, ComfortDelGro also teased that they were then working on a revamped version of the app. 2 weeks later, the app has been released to the public.
And my, we have to say: we absolutely love the design (it’s available for iOS only, though):
The new app is now able to recommend to commuters the best routes to take, as well as provide estimates on metered fares. There is also a “history” feature where you can check the details of your last 10 journeys.
Let’s take a look at the previous version:
I don’t know about you, but that’s definitely a huge visual improvement! I especially liked the fact that the app addressed me Good evening Mr Jacky, according to the time.
Anyone knows who designed the new ComfortDelGro app?
