Guvera, the new entrant in Southeast Asia’s music streaming space, has officially launched in Malaysia.

As noted by Malaysian Wireless, at its launch in Kuala Lumpur last week, Michael Wallis-Brown, Chief Commercial Officer Guvera Global, President and Managing Director Guvera Asia said, “Guvera is ushering in a new era of music streaming and offering users an exciting new way to experience music that’s simple and effortless. We are thrilled to introduce this technology to all avid music lovers in Malaysia. Guvera is transforming the way people experience music and advancing the music industry through innovation.”

Founded back in 2008 and officially launched in 2010, Guvera is an online music download and streaming service which allows users to stream music legally. Guvera has agreements with the music labels in the regions and is largely focusing on users in Australia, Indonesia, and the United States.

Users can stream musics according to their genres, create playlists and share them with their friends. Guvera is pretty much ad supported too, with option to opt for the platinum non-ad version.

While other music streaming sites such as Spotify and Deezer focus a lot on music discovery, Guvera markets itself as an advertising platform rather than a music platform, its technology makes it possible for advertisers to target broad or very specific consumer groups, showcasing particular aspects of a brand’s personality with relevant music genres in their branded music channels. For its users, Guvera is constantly looking for ways to reward loyal users with special offers as well as opportunities to win “money-cannot-buy experiences” from Guvera’s music partners.

Earlier in March too, Guvera announced their worldwide partnership with Lenovo, which sees Guvera’s service pre-installed onto Lenovo mobile devices. It currently has over 10 million songs available on its platform.

According to Malaysian Wireless, Guvera Malaysia is now in the process of building a team to support users, artists, labels and business partners.

“We take a strong interest in acquiring the right talents to ensure Guvera’s music content and playlists are the best. Check your Guvera App regularly and we will surprise you with new playlists and tracks for every moment of the day,” shared Michael.

Of course, if you are not using Guvera, there are other music streaming services too, such as Spotify and Deezer.
