We all love beautiful things. Beautiful things inspire and motivate us. And thanks to this quality of ours, Naiise — an online platform for you to discover original, well designed products — has been growing fast over the past one year: it currently stocks over 4,000 products from more than 350 Singaporean and international brands.

We’ve covered Naiise quite extensively here on Vulcan Post, and we are fans of what they are doing: within the last 12 months, the company has organised four beautifully-crafted pop-up stores around Singapore:

Committing To Physical Retail

In a previous interview with Vulcan Post, Naiise founder Dennis Tay shared that, “Pop-up stores definitely do better”, and that human traffic conversions are universally known to be higher as compared to website sales conversions. That said, the team usually sees a good boost in online sales after each pop-up store as brand awareness for Naiise increases.

Equipped with that fact, Naiise has just launched its very own physical store at Westgate Mall, further expanding its physical retail footprint.

Strategically located in the rapidly-developing hub of Jurong, and spanning more than 1,500 sqf of prime retail space on the ground floor of Westgate Mall, Naiise@Westgate is Naiise’s first long-term pop-up store, slated to operate until March 2016. It also marks the start of Naiise’s strategy to move from a purely online retail model into a hybrid online + offline business where physical stores serve as good complements to its online presence.

Having run four successful pop-up stores last year, each spanning 1-2 months, Naiise sees great value in building a strong offline presence as it would help to:

  1. Give new shoppers a chance to interact with design products first-hand, helping them understand what they are buying,
  2. Offer greater convenience to customers as they will be able to self-collect their online orders at various locations; and
  3. Help local emerging designers reach out to even more people with a wider retail footprint that spans both online and offline.

Naiise@Westgate is located at Westgate Mall, #01-30, and is open from 10a.m. to 10p.m. daily. It houses over 2,000 products from more than 200 brands, and spans across categories like home, fashion, stationery, food, beauty and kids, offering something for everyone. Products are housed in modular cubes in a space-saving layout, which Naiise retained from the previous tenant. The store also features products from local furniture designers SCENE SHANG and Triple Eyelid, as well as graphic prints from local art studio KULT3D that form a thought-provoking pop-up gallery wall at one end of the store.

As Tay explained in a press release, “As a young start-up, we are deeply appreciative of the growing support we see from landlords in helping small local businesses like us grow. We are particularly excited to be in Westgate as it helps us reach out to new audiences in West Singapore as our previous pop-up stores have been located in central areas.”
