Filipino netizens are rejoicing because their favourite Twister Fries are back! Twister Fries is a McDonald’s offering only available in the Philippines. And McDonald’s has positioned the product well, garnering huge demand from a market that perceives it as something exclusive since it is available for a limited period only.
Twister Fries made a comeback last week but it is not known how long it will be available. However, based on the last time it hit stores, the exclusive curly fries could possibly be available for only a few of weeks. So to those who are craving for some curly potato action better grab them now before they’re gone.
And what better way for tech savvy Pinoys to get their craving satisfied than by using their mobile phones, right?
Right.
Official McDonald’s Philippines App
The new McDo (short for McDonald’s) Philippines app is the “McDonald’s in your pocket”. It’s available for both Android and iOS users.
The app has five features. There’s McDelivery, of course, where you can have your McDo faves within 30 minutes (or so the fast food chain guarantees). There’s a function called Coupons for exclusive discounts and freebies. There’s also a handy Store Locator, which you can use to find the nearest McDonald’s branch wherever you may be, and look for branches that are open for 24 hours, has a Drive-Thru, or is available as a party venue. The What’s New? feature will keep you updated on exclusive promotions from the Golden Arches. Lastly, there’s McCelebrations, where you can select themes and packages for a hassle-free party.
McDo Philippines App Limitations
Sure, McDo fans love that it has an app to make their lives easier. But this seems to be true only for those in the metro and a few other selected locations in the country. As of this writing, orders made via the app are only accepted in Cebu, Davao, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Tarlac, Angeles City, Pulilan and, of course, Metro Manila. So that’s one current unfortunate limitation of the app.
Another limitation is the lack of other payment methods other than paying in cash upon delivery (or also known as COD). Some users also think that McDonald’s should include more payment options like credit and debit cards, Google Play, and including the order in their Globe billing.
A number of users also find it troublesome that the McDonald’s Philippines app currently has no way to save multiple addresses. Users would like the app to have a feature to save their home address and office address for more convenience when ordering their meal and accepting their meal delivery.
Other than those limitations, a number of Android users are also experiencing issues with placing an order as well as delays in delivery. Hopefully, these can be easily fixed by an update (or several updates) soon.
