A former beauty queen and car model, Malaysian DJ Leng Yein is not only famous for her extremely busty figure, she is also popular in the social media sphere where her Facebook page boasts of over 2.5 million of followers and more than 370k followers on Instagram, making her one of the most sought after DJs in Asia.
Many young girls look up on her as a role model due to her impressive achievements at such a young age. Aside from admiring her high tolerance for going under the knife, she is one extremely talented lady.
She became an experienced entrepreneur before she reached the age of 30 by managing a mamak restaurant, tattoo parlour, boutique, nail salon and she also has her own fashion label. She DJs, sings, hosts events, models, and currently she’s focusing on expanding her entertainment career to the United States and Europe.
Here are some are some of the life lessons that we can learn from Leng Yein who has pretty much ‘been there, done that’.
1. Ignore the haters, you live life by your own terms.
We are unable to please everyone all the time, and Leng Yein serves as proof to the reality that there is no point in letting haters or our critics dictate our emotions.
I don’t care. These haters are not paying my bills. If they say that I’m earning my money in unsavoury ways, well, at least I’m earning my own money. I don’t depend on anyone else. I’m supporting myself and my family. I don’t think I owe anyone an explanation on how I choose to earn my money, as long as it is not against the law.

2. Failure is the only opportunity to start again.
It is okay to fail sometimes, what matters is you get back up. People learn more from failure than success, same goes to Leng Yein. Her marriage ended 4 years ago and she closed down her mamak restaurant to start afresh. Following that, she was unemployed for 9 months.
“After my divorce, I couldn’t find a job for nine months. There were a lot of rumours and gossips surrounding my divorce, and the haters started to crawl out from the woodwork.
I put down my ego (I never really had one to begin with), and I went around begging people for a job. And I survived!”

3. Get your priorities right when it comes to financial decisions.
When you purchase things that you don’t really need, that desire is mostly driven by emotion—and that could be a dangerous thing. One example is when one decides to buy a car. Despite the satisfaction and gratifying feeling of owning a desirable and luxurious car, Leng Yein described that it was one of her worst financial decisions. Think about that the next time you decide to buy a Louis Vuitton bag just because it’s something that you want, but not something that you need.
“I bought my pink Hummer for RM400,000 in cash. It’s my worst financial decision. Buying a home. I know there is a place I can go back to no matter where I am in the world.”

4. Take risks when you’re young.
The main difference between the entertainment industry and working in an MnC is the stability of your income. Sure, these entertainment gigs provide an attractive income, but compared to a desk-based job, entertainers have a bigger risk to bear. As what Leng Yein said in an interview, she doesn’t settle for the norm because it’s too dull.
“Though my pay is higher than working a nine-to-five office job, I take on a lot more risks too. A stable job gives you a fixed salary for the next 10, 20 or even 30 years. For me, I may only be able to do this for the next three years, but I could be earning what they would earn in 10 years. That is the risk I am willing to take.”

5. Stay true to yourself because you know yourself best.
One of her infamous quotes is, “I might have a fake face and fake boobs but I have a real personality.” Despite having done numerous surgeries, she always emphasises on being true to yourself.
“Be true to yourself even when everyone else thinks you shouldnt be doing what you do. You should never be afraid of being yourself. Be rather afraid of being someone else coz no one knows your sh** better than you do Hun.”

6. Don’t date boys, date men.
Boys give you problems, men solve them. Being as successful and beautiful as she is, it’s no surprise that Leng Yein has her fair share of admirers, but she is a lady who knows exactly what kind of partner she wants to have in her life.
In her Facebook post, she said that she was single for a long time because she didn’t want to date boys who are inferior and have personal issues with insecurity. “If I am 100%, my man will be a 200%. My man will be the pillar of strength, my mentor, keeping my life balanced, giving me positive vibes and making me having a clear purpose and bigger picture in life,” she wrote.
