It’s official, the Stormtroopers have taken over Changi Airport.

This morning, Star Wars fans gathered at Singapore’s Changi Airport to watch the official launch of the ANA Star Wars plane, which was made under the guise of the adorable droid R2D2. The launch was marked with a full-fledged parade, full of Stormtroopers and rebel pilots dressed in their iconic orange flight suits. The parade began from a model of the X-wing located at Terminal 3, and concluded at a model of the TIE fighter in Terminal 2.

Here’s a look at what happened.

The parade started by the X-wing fighter, which was visited by a curious R2D2.

The Stormtroopers arrive! They seemed very keen on taking selfies with the crowd.

Eventually, they find their boss, the elusive Darth Vader, who commands power with his red light-saber (and loves the attention).

Remember to hold on to the handrails, folks! Safety first.

Of course, the star of the show was the Star Wars plane, which in actuality, is a beautifully decked up ANA 787 decorated from Business to Economy Class. The ceilings are also lit with the gorgeous colours of lightsabers, but are much less dangerous.

R2D2 even comes to pay a visit to the plane completely decked up in his own design, which can come across as being totally narcissistic. We’re not judging.

R2D2 loves the ladies. Somewhere in the corridor, someone is yelling, “Hey, this is Disney leh!”

Stormtroopers go down to the ground to make sure that the ANA is in working order.

The parade might be over, but the Star Wars craze is here to stay. From 13 November 2015 to 5 January 2016, airport visitors will be able to enter the life-sized X-wing fighter dressed in their Star Wars costumes. Photo memorabilia will be made free for all visitors. Fans can also look forward to character greetings featuring X-wing fighter pilots and Imperial Stormtroopers every Saturday from 4pm, from 14 November to 2 January. You can visit the Changi Airport website for more information on the end of year activities!
