Valentine’s Day is often times the more media-populated event for the month of February as it is the more lucrative of the two. The second event which shares the same February 14 date is Single Awareness Day which highlights the singles. It started out as an event so the singles don’t feel left out while their taken counterparts celebrate theg night away.
The event has taken on a life of its own with singles treating themselves with the regular flowers and chocolate or even travel out of the country just for the sake of it. Perhaps Brazil would be a good spot then, as they don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day in February, but instead on June 12th.
However, for those who are budgeting their holidays for the year and are looking to spend less, there’s no need to put away the celebratory hat. Uber, alongside Paktor, datesmith and KL Journal will be organising their very own version of Single Awareness Day with an #UberExclusive singles mixer. Uber has also arranged for a door gift from Getex.
In order to get invites to the exclusive event where you know for sure that party goers have a signage that says ‘single and available’, all you have to do is work those finger muscles.
- Refer a friend with your personalised referral code that’s in your Uber app, from now till 12pm on the 13th of February.
- Open your Uber app on Valentine’s Day from 3-4pm, and if you are the lucky first 100, you will spot a Valentine’s Day vehicle.
- Just request for the ride and you and a friend will be on the way to the party.
Nobody said that February 14 is a date where singles have to mope around with their heads down after all, and those who are in a relationship aren’t the only “twos” who get to have all the fun.
You can download the Uber app from the Google Playstore and Apple App Store.
