WeChat, another popular chatting app by China based Tencent, has just announced that it has managed to get over 100 million downloads internationally on Google Play. The service now has a combined 272 million monthly active users.
For those unfamiliar with WeChat, its a messaging app that allows you to chat with your friends. Other than that, you can also make free voice call, video call, send short voice messages as well as playing games with one another.
Other than that, you can also use WeChat to discover new friends nearby through its “Shake” feature as well as “Nearby” feature:
Increasingly, we are seeing more and more users on mobile chat apps. Other than WeChat which has over 272 million monthly active users, Japan based LINE has recently announced that it has surpassed 300 million users. When WhatsApp went down last weekend, its competitor Telegram also added 800,000 new users in just 4 hours, showing you the magnitude of users on mobile.
