The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) was established in 1998 to regulate the communications and multimedia industry and was given 10 national policy objectives. Some of which include to establish Malaysia as a major global centre and hub for communications and multimedia information and content services, and also ensure information security and network reliability and integrity.

In the past, the public could lodge any complaints and concerns via their hotline or email, and now there is another method of contacting the MCMC—WhatsApp.

MCMC has activated a new WhatApp hotline for any telco related problems. Such telco problems include issues with internet services, broadcasting, telecommunications, postal services, and online gambling.

While the public can report those aforementioned issues to their WhatsApp number 016-2206262 any time; it is stated in their Facebook post that they will respond within 24 hours during their operating hours, which is from 9am to 5pm every Monday to Friday. You can find out more information from their Facebook post here.
