It’s getting increasingly harder to look for jobs and sustain a position at any company these days. With many retrenchments and more to come, it makes sense that many will be holding onto their jobs for dear life. For employees of the 75 best local companies in Malaysia though, they might just hold on a little tighter.
Recruitment firm Randstad recently revealed the top 75 companies in Malaysia and it was compiled into a list in alphabetical order, as part of their inaugural Randstad Award. Essentially the way it works is that the companies which are shortlisted are selected based on the crowd’s favourites and it is the people’s choice for the best entities to work at. Fun fact, this is the first time the Randstad Award is held in Malaysia.
A total of 4504 Malaysians, who are potential employees and job-seekers in the age group of 18-65, were surveyed and asked to identify which companies that they recognise, and wish to work for. These are large companies with typically more than 1,000 employees. Their responses were also evaluated based on the attractiveness factors of the largest local companies, in terms of salary, benefits received, work culture and more.
The 2016 edition of the award covers 25 countries, with more than 200,000 respondents in total globally. It should be noted that this list is based on public perception, which means these are companies that are regarded as attractive and people would wish to be employed by them. Therefore, the ultimate winner will be based on the company which the public perceives as having an overall brand awareness, absolute, as well as relative attractiveness.
Winning companies will be announced by April 28, but meanwhile, the 75 entities in Malaysia which have been shortlisted are:
