After massive news coverage all over the world regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s battery issues which may result in bloated, or even exploding batteries, Samsung has taken full responsibility by issuing an immediate recall of devices.

Right here in Singapore, every single local telco has since stopped all sales of Samsung latest flagship device, barring any further instruction from Samsung themselves with regard to the future sale, or exchange of sold products.

Samsung Breaks Silence In Singapore With Exchange Programme

Today, Samsung finally announced the roll-out of the Galaxy Note 7 exchange programme for Singapore customers, following the reported cases of battery cell issues with the Galaxy Note 7 smartphones.

The programme will provide existing Galaxy Note 7 customers with a new replacement Galaxy Note 7 in exchange for their current devices.

Starting from 16 September to 2 October 2016, customers who have purchased a Galaxy Note 7 from any local telecommunication operators, major electronics stores, authorised mobile retailers, Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung’s Lazada Singapore Online Store can exchange their current device for a new Galaxy Note 7 in the same colour via self-collection at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre or via free home delivery.

Here’s How You Can Do That

To initiate your exchange of the Galaxy Note 7 device, you will first be required to submit a preferred collection time slot online through this website: www.samsung.com/sg/note7exchange

The booking period starts on this Friday 9 September, and lasts up to 25 September 2016, and customers will have this amount of time to register themselves to be eligible for the exchange.

Once you have returned your Note 7, courtesy devices are available for loan, while they wait for their Galaxy Note 7 exchange.

While the nature of these devices is not known, speculations are that they will be the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Edge models that were released earlier this year, as these phones are being used in some countries for the exchange as well.

Those who participate in the exchange programme will also have their warranty period on their phones extended to commence from the date of the exchange.

So if you have a Note 7 in your hands now, come Friday visit the link above to book your slot for a replacement phone. Note that the link is not live at the moment and will be active on the 9th.
