You probably have already heard of Team Fnatic in Malaysia who made history last year by bagging RM5.6 million at a Dota 2 tournament.

You might have even shared that news on Facebook and tagged your friends saying, “Wahhh gaming also can earn millions lehhh!”

Then you start thinking about how hard would it be to convince your parents that there is actually a future and reward in gaming several hours a day into the wee hours of the night.

But how often does playing a casual mobile game in Malaysia come with a cash reward?

The Chance You’ve Been Dreaming About

Celcom Game Hero was just launched today and it is the biggest mobile game tournament in Malaysia.

The concept is to open up the tournament to anyone and everyone. Instead of tying it to a console or computer, they’re using a mobile phone game so that any smartphone owner can join in the fun.

Head to the Game Hero website and download Sky Invasion 3D to start playing now. Registration is free and very simple—once you’ve put in your phone number, just key in the TAC code that will be sent along shortly.

What Can Players Win

The game itself is really easy to pick up and play, but here’s your added motivation to become extremely good at it—up to RM 1 million in cash prizes up for grabs, with the top ranked person on the leaderboard winning a cool total of RM250k.

Top cash prizes available.

Even if you only make it to the top 100, that’s still a RM1000 cash prize.

Don’t despair if you find yourself massively bad at this particular game, there’s still something in it for you.

Daily, you get two chances to open War Chests, which contain in-game gems and even Xpax reloads.

So, there’s your motivation to log in daily for a chance to win those prizes. While you’re there, you might as well try your hand at the game. The better you get, the higher you can climb up the leaderboard.

Be A Celcom Game Hero In Sky Invasion 3D

At first glance, Sky Invasion 3D (Google Play/Apple App Store) doesn’t seem too different from other auto-scrolling shooting games. You start off the tutorial controlling a red X Raptor.

Moving is as simple as tapping where you want to be on the screen.  You shoot automatically, which is one less thing to worry about. Of course, there are enemies to defeat and levels to pass, all while keeping your health up by minimising the damage taken.

Tip: The background scenery is purely decorative. I wasted some time trying to navigate around obstacles and buildings, only to realise that the only things I needed to avoid were enemies and their shots.

Terms And Conditions

I know, the least fun part, but some key points:

  • Free subscription to the tournament until April 6 2017. A subscription fee of RM3.00 per week will be charged once the free subscription period ends.
  • Open to Celcom customers only.
  • You can play the game multiple times. Each time your score will be uploaded onto the leaderboard and will be considered as an entry. No specific entry form is required.

The full list of terms and conditions is available here.

Other than that, it’s as easy as downloading the game from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, loading it up and racking up those high scores you need to get your hands on those cash prizes.
