If you haven’t heard of Singapore-Malaysia watch brand Boldr, you have been missing out on some finely crafted timepieces.
Founded in 2015, the Boldr team are Kickstarter sensations in their own right. Their previous two lines of watches, the Voyage and the Journey, broke past their funding goals with ample time to spare.
Now the trio behind the Boldr, Travis Tan, Leon Leong, and Isa Ghani, are back with a third watch that looks set to break the records of its two predecessors.
The Boldr Odyssey
With the Voyage taking design cues from aviators and the Journey from everyday watches, the all-new Odyssey gets its inspiration from the divers of the deep.
Launched on Kickstarter on 17 April 2017, the watch hit its funding goal of $50,000 in less than 24 hours, and as of the time of this writing has raised $69,217.
What’s so special about Boldr’s new watch that it had people scrambling to back it? Along with their updated logo and branding, Boldr is introducing its first every automatic dive watch.
It is not a dive watch in name only. You can actually bring it along the next time you take a dip into the ocean, and has a rated water-resistance of up to 500m.
Expect the same quality craftsmanship that fans have come to know of Boldr with the Odyssey, which features a Sapphire glass dome lens, a sturdy stainless steel case, and Superlume index markers.
Each watch will come with a choice of one of two straps – one made up of durable polyurethane, and the other a top-grain Italian leather with waterproof coating.
The watch is available in 3 colours – Steel Blue, Storm White, and Ever Black. All three are still open for backing on Kickstarter starting at $385 for the “Early Solo Dive” tiers.
With 35 days more to go before the campaign ends, don’t wait until the last minute if you have your eyes set on a particular colour.
The three founders are definitely making waves within the watchmaking industry creating their own unique microbrand in Boldr.
With their watches already available in retail outlets in major cities such as San Francisco and Paris, the Odyssey marks another milestone in the story of Boldr.
