HUAWEI fans rejoice, the new Nova2i has been launched!

The new model is at a mid-range of $448 and comes jam-packed with a host of capabilities.

Decked in either Graphite Black and Aurora Blue, the device is sleek and softly-curved to fit perfectly into the palm. But enough words, let us talk numbers instead.

The phone comes with a stunning FullView display of 5.9 inches (18:9 and 83% screen-to-body ratio), putting it in the range of pricier models such as the Samsung Galaxy S8+or even the HUAWEI Mate 10 Pro.

It does have a slightly lower resolution at 2160×1080 but for its price tag, no one’s complaining. Meanwhile, it still provides an immersive gaming or movie watching experience.

Audio-wise, the Nova 2i comes with HUAWEI’s Histen audio system, which promises to “deliver extraordinary sound experiences for immersive video and gaming experiences”.

And for all the size, the Nova 2i is a lightweight at 164g.

Now onto the star of the show, or rather, the four stars of the show.

The front 13MP camera is paired with a 2MP sensor for depth of field enabled photos. Meanwhile, the rear’s 16MP camera also has its own 2MP sensor.

Both cameras allow for bokeh effect for your perfect selfie / portrait shot.

And just like with the Huawei 8 Pro, the Nova 2i lets you adjust the photo’s focus after the shot.

As for performance, the phone runs on an 8-core Kirin 659 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM.

The Android-7 based EMUI allows for app multitasking and content streaming, so you don’t have to worry about overwhelming it.

The phone’s 3,340mAh battery also promises 2day standby battery life so that you can play all the Mobile Legends you want before having to charge it.

When Can You Get It?

Right now, actually.

The HUAWEI Nova 2i launched at $448 on 21 October at local telcos M1, Singtel and StarHub.

They are also on sale at home and electronics retailers Best Denki, Courts, Harvey Norman, Sprint-Cass and other independent retailers.
