After prepping us to be ready for their arrival “before Christmas”, Go-Jek just launched its beta app in Singapore on 29 November, Thursday.
The Indonesian ride-hailing firm said “hundreds of thousands” of commuters would get to experience first access to their service, covering the CBD, Jurong East, Changi, Punggol, Ang Mo Kio and Sentosa.
Go-Jek says they chose to introduce the service in those areas due to high population density, and will progressively expand across Singapore during the beta phase.
Users will be able to gain access on a first-come, first-served basis when they sign up for a Go-Jek account on the app. This will put them on a waiting list, and they can use the app once they receive an email or notification giving them access.
However, DBS and POSB card holders will get priority, thanks to their partnership with Go-Jek.
Upon downloading the app, they can enter a promo code starting with “DBS” followed by the first 6 digits of their American Express, Mastercard, or Visa DBS or POSB card, to be put on the top of the waiting list.
The bank’s members will also receive two $5 vouchers automatically applied to their first two trips with Go-Jek, and enjoy special promo codes in the future.
After this period of testing and tweaking, the full app is set to be rolled out in 2019.
