From the 13th to 14th of April 2019, you’ll have the chance to experience Songkran for yourself at the UChat Songkran Day-Out being held at the Setia City Oval Lawn.

Visitors can expect concert performances from both local and international artists, a variety of water-themed activities, and an assortment of delectable food from the many food trucks that will be present during the weekend.

What makes this event unique is that it’ll be totally cashless. Why? Because you’ll only be able to make transactions using the 2-in-1 mobile app called UChat (available on iOS or Android), an app that combines both messaging and e-wallet features.

With the UChatPay e-wallet, you can easily scan and pay, transfer, split bill or request funds. Each time you spend, you’ll also be earning rewards!

Starting from the ticket purchasing itself to the transactions done during the festival, all you’ll need to do is open up the UChatPay e-wallet and scan the QR code instead of fumbling around for loose change and cash.

Just carry your phone around and don’t worry about damaging your phone while you’re out there having fun, there will be waterproof casings sold at the event venue!

Ticket prices start at RM49 for the Basic Zone and it goes up to RM189 for the VIP Experience where you’ll receive more benefits such as a concert kit and a mystery gift. There’s also a 2-day VIP Experience Pass priced at RM271.

If you’re keen on attending, it’s best to get tickets now because there’s a 20% discount happening for the first 1,000 people who buy the VIP Experience and Premium Zone tickets.

What Can I Look Forward To?

Visitors can expect two major happenings during the weekend:

  • Night Concert

Exclusively for those who purchase the VIP Experience and Premium Zone tickets, you get to attend a full concert in the evening and enjoy amazing performances from a solid lineup.

You’ll get to hear from the successful Produce 101 trainee turned KPOP star, Chung Ha, popular Thailand Idol Girl Group BNK48, and German-Thai singer Jannine “Ploychompoo” Weigel.

For local artistes, you can enjoy performances from Malaysian rock band Bunkface, actress and singer Elizabeth Tan, Taiwan-based Malaysian actress and singer Min Chen, famed Malaysian YouTuber turned professional singer Priscilla Abby, and young singer-songwriter As’ad Motawh.

  • Water Attractions

There will be two water-based activities for attendees to enjoy; The Water Excitements and The Water Tournaments.

The Water Excitements are activities that even children can join in, and include things like the exciting Water Gun Challenge, the larger-than-life Giant Bubble Playland, and the explosive Water War.

The challengers will be comprised of a team of 1 VIP Experience ticket holder (who’ll be dubbed the captain) and 4 VIP Experience/Premium Zone ticket holders. On a first come, first served basis, challengers who manage to form a team of 5 may be selected to join the challenge.

How it works is that you can buy the VIP Experience ticket via the UChat app. Once that’s done, share with your Facebook friends about your purchase and recruit your team of 4 by sharing your Water Tournament details that include your referral code on social media.

FYI: Before your 4 buddies purchase their VIP Experience or Premium Zone tickets, make sure they key in your referral code!

After that, you’ll be able to select a slot to challenge your favourite InstaCelebs when your team is complete, and winners of this tournament stand a chance to win e-money!

There will be a total of 36 InstaCelebs, with 18 different InstaCelebs attending for each day. The lineup includes big names like Gladish, Findy, Mika, Wan Li, Yii Yii, Yang BaoBei, Charles Tee, and more.
