Businesses in Singapore now have a one-stop platform where they can seek help with government regulations, and also give feedback to improve the business ecosystem.

This platform is called the SBF-ASME Pro-Enterprise Clinic, and was launched yesterday (17 April) by Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME), and the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s (MTI) Pro-Enterprise Panel.

Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Chee Hong Tat, announced its launch at the SME Centre Conference 2019.

The effort comes in response to Singapore business owners’ long-standing frustrations with cumbersome regulations and processes.

The inception of the SBF-ASME Pro-Enterprise Clinic will remove the need for businesses to contact multiple individual government agencies on different matters.

Instead, the clinic will address business owner’s queries directly and point out potential solutions to their business problems.

If needed, companies can also ask for one-to-one sessions to solve more complex issues.

The clinic is also a place for businesses to submit feedback and suggestions on how regulations can be streamlined and improved, which will be channeled to the Pro-Enterprise Panel.

“We are committed to working with trade associations and chambers and companies to keep our rules and regulations pro-enterprise and to support new business ideas,” said Mr Chee.

“When we review our rules, we help our companies reduce costs, save time and support their business ideas. But it also helps to keep our regulatory system nimble and responsive to new changes in business requirements and technology. It is a win-win partnership,” he added.

Businesses will have to make their appointments with the Pro-Enterprise Clinic through SBF or ASME’s websites.
