Earlier in March, Silicon Valley startup Impossible Foods made their plant-based ‘meat’ available in Singapore.
Although it is 100% plant-based, their patty looks, smells and tastes just like real meat.
It even ‘bleeds’ like a rare beef burger, with a juicy pinkish-red centre.
Their plant-based meat is actually made of four major natural ingredients: soy protein concentrate, coconut oil, sunflower oil and natural flavours.
The Impossible 2.0 recipe contains no gluten, animal hormones or antibiotics and is also halal-certified.
Impossible Foods has collaborated with eight restaurants in Singapore to serve their plant-based ‘meat’, and is now taking their offerings from offline to online.
From May 21 (Tuesday), Deliveroo customers can order Impossible Foods dishes from 33 restaurant outlets in Singapore via the app.
The full breakdown of the participating restaurants is as follows:
- Three Buns/Potato Heads
- Omakase Burger/Picnic
- FatBoy’s the Burger Bar
- FatPapas (halal)
- Wolf Burgers
- P.S. Cafe
- PappaRich (halal)
- Oriole Coffee + Bar
According to Deliveroo, this partnership marks the increasing demand for sustainable eating in Singapore, as customers will now have greater access and choices for plant-based options across both brands.
It will also be the first time Impossible Foods is available for delivery in Singapore, so customers can enjoy it anytime, anywhere.
On the launch day, Deliveroo will be giving away 600 #ImpossiblebyDeliveroo sustainable swag kits to encourage conscious consumption.
Every order of an Impossible meat will come with this swag kit, which includes a reusable insulated lunch bag, metal cutlery set, and Impossible T-shirt.
To celebrate the partnership, Deliveroo will also be installing a huge vending machine at Ocean Financial Centre to allow the public to have a taste of one of the following Impossible dishes for free.
The free tasting session will be held for one day only on May 21 (Tuesday), from 10am to 7.30pm, serving dishes like Oriole breakfast burrito, Three Buns burgers, PappaRich nasi lemak and FatPapas meatball spaghetti.
