Today, DBS Bank and Gojek announced that consumers are now able to pay for their rides with mobile wallet DBS PayLah!
Consumers will simply need to add DBS PayLah! as a preferred payment method after a one-time authorisation and set-up.
About 35% of Gojek’s daily ride-hailing transactions in Singapore are paid for in cash, so this new partnership will serve as “an opportunity for DBS and GOJEK to encourage users – who may not own a debit or credit card and so need an alternative to cash payments – to adopt digital payments”.
According to the press release, DBS PayLah! is Singapore’s most popular mobile wallet and currently has over one million users.
Around 80,000 merchants in Singapore also accept DBS PayLah!
Said Shee Tse Koon, Singapore Country Head, DBS Bank: “As GOJEK’s preferred payment partner in Singapore, we are pleased to expand our payments services partnership to provide a full suite of easy and seamless options for consumers to travel and pay as they prefer.”
Added Lien Choong Luen, General Manager of GOJEK Singapore: “Through integrating DBS PayLah! in the GOJEK app, our riders will have greater flexibility to choose their preferred payment methods, which allows for a more seamless travel and payment experience with every ride.”

What’s a launch without a promo code, right?
Consumers will be able to get $5 off their first trip and 20% off their second trip (capped at $3) by using promo code ‘JUSTPAYLAH’.
Do note though, that this promo is only applicable to new Gojek users from 13 June 2019 to 13 July 2019.
Gojek And DBS Looking At “Collaboration Opportunities” In Indonesia
When Gojek first launched its ride-hailing service in Singapore back in November 2018, DBS and POSB cardholders got priority in using the service before anyone else, and even received two $5 vouchers for their first 2 rides.
Since then, DBS and Gojek have partnered to allow drivers make unlimited real-time withdrawals of their earnings from the Gojek wallets via DBS IDEAL RAPID.
At this year’s DBS Marina Regatta, participants with special needs and those from marginalised communities also got to enjoy subsidised Gojek rides to the event.
Apart from PayLah! integration, DBS and Gojek are said to be “exploring collaboration opportunities in Indonesia, such as cross-marketing initiatives”.
“Following the success of DBS and GOJEK’s partnership in Singapore, where GOJEK recently celebrated their 10 million-trip milestone, we have also entered the next phase of our partnership in Indonesia,” revealed Shee.
“Indonesia is a key growth market for DBS, and is where GOJEK has established itself as an innovation leader by becoming a part of Indonesians’ everyday lives.”
Currently, DBS provides a full range of services in consumer, SME, and corporate banking across 13 major cities.
