In 2016, Australian firm TPG Telecom won the bid to become Singapore’s fourth telco.
Then in December last year, TPG announced that it will offer free mobile service for a year to the first 20,000 users who register their interest.
Due to such positive interest, TPG has relaunched the free one-year trial in March, which is still ongoing.
Now, TPG is offering yet another lucrative deal: it is offering 200,000 users free unlimited data roaming in Malaysia and Indonesia from mid-July.
“These two countries are two of the top travel destinations for Singaporeans due to their proximity, so many of our customers will be able to save and break away from existing high roaming charges,” said TPG executive chairman David Teoh.
This offer will also allow TPG users to make unlimited calls to Singapore mobile numbers while roaming, capped at 20 minutes talktime.
All incoming calls and SMSes will also be free.
TPG said that it will offer a stored-value facility so users can make payment for any other charges incurred using their credit cards.
“These are just one of the many product enhancements we are launching so our customers can always stay connected and benefit from our service,” said Teoh.
