After Jewel Changi comes the next talk of the town: Funan Mall.
Funan is slated to be “Singapore’s first online-and-offline shopping mall” that integrates online and offline retail with data and logistics.
The mall also aims to transform the customer experience as a whole.
Among the many first-of-its-kind amenities such as the indoor cycling rack and smart parking that adds to the overall savvy-ness of the mall, is Golden Village’s newest tech-empowered multiplex.
GV Funan is the cinema exhibitor’s 14th in Singapore and the theatres here are promised to create a much more comfortable and intimate movie-going experience.
It’s a seven-theatre complex with a total of 431 seats, and GV Funan moviegoers will also be able to experience two new seating concepts: Deluxe Plus and Gold Class Express.
The Deluxe Plus halls feature spacious leatherette seats that comes with lumbar cushioning for increased support and reclining backrest for extra comfort.
Each seat includes a USB charging port, so patrons can charge their their mobile devices while enjoying their shows.
The Gold Class Express hall, with its 32 plush leatherette electronic recliner seats provides a similar Gold Class experience at an affordable price.
Instead of the Gold Class’s signature butler service, moviegoers can preorder their food and drinks ahead of their movie time on the revamped iGV mobile app, so all they need to do is turn up, pick up, and watch the show.
Date nights at the movies get more cosy and private with GV Funan’s GEMINI halls as the comfy leatherette seats come with more legroom and retractable armrests.
Staying true to the promise of providing an experience that goes beyond “more than a movie”, GV Funan has four Virtual Reality (VR) pods installed at the foyer.
Moviegoers can take a shot at slinging webs in virtual reality with Spider-Man: Homecoming or slash to the beat with Beat Saber for 15 minutes ($8 per session on weekdays, $12 per session on weekends).
Feeling hungry just before the show?
As moviegoers step out of the escalator to the entrance of the multiplex, they’ll be greeted by the grab & Gold café which serves food from local delights to western dishes, on top the standard cinema fare of popcorn and nacho chips.
CEO of Golden Village Multiplex, Clara Cheo said, “The new Deluxe Plus and Gold Class Express theatres at GV Funan recognise the demand for a premium yet affordable cinema experience, while offering more comfort and enhanced intimacy.”
“While we realise people can now watch a film almost anywhere and at any time, we remain absolutely committed to the belief that nothing should beat the fun, excitement, comfort and affordability of watching a movie at a GV cinema.”
GV Funan opens to the public today (28 June) and movie tickets for GV Funan can now be purchased online at www.gv.com.sg and via the iGV app.
