ipos go mobile app

Registering for a business trademark in Singapore used to be a 45-minute to an hour-long affair.

With the new mobile app developed by the Intellectual Property of Singapore (Ipos), it is now possible to get it done in less than 10 minutes.

Called Ipos Go, the app enables companies to register their trademark and file it directly with Ipos.

In addition, it also allows applicants to track their registration status, receive updates, as well as file for trademark renewals via the app.

The app also uses artificial intelligence to search for similar trademarks on the Ipos register, to prevent applicants from filing for trademarks that are too similar to existing ones.

This is a very important feature, since more than 40 per cent of the world’s trademarks today contain images, said Ipos.

It also noted that trademark applications in Singapore have increased by 30 per cent over the last five years.

Besides the mobile app, businesses can still file their trademarks on other platforms such as Ipos’ e-services website and third party agencies.
