A few months ago, we wrote about a trio of mothers in Singapore, who decided to create a family-friendly coworking space so that parents can focus on their hustle without missing out on their children’s growing years.

Their concept is made up of a mixture of different zones, with common areas where members can have their kids beside them as they work, and “child-free” areas where the adults can hold their meetings.

When members need some space to themselves, they can drop their kids off for playtime under the supervision of caretakers on premises.

Co-founders Elaine Kim, Tjin Lee and Elizabeth Wu first established Trehaus at Claymore Connect Mall on Orchard Road with half a million in seed funding, which served as their “proof of concept” for three years.

Today (18 October 2019), Trehaus announced its official launch with a 12,000 square foot coworking space in Funan Mall.

Here are some pictures of the space, that’s both sleek and classy, yet has touches of whimsical fun at the same time!

Along with their grand opening, Trehaus also launches Trehaus School, a “Silicon Valley-inspired” preschool and childcare that focuses on building character and future skills, and lets parents be present for their children’s learning journey.

Currently open for enrolment, it will be starting with the first batch of preschool students between two months and six years of age in September 2019.

Their teaching methods revolve around the company’s proprietary Littles’ Programme Curriculum, which provides both academic learning and aims to develop skills like “creativity, adaptability, teamwork, empathy and grit”.

It also caters to a wide variety of aspects of early education through their sub-programmes.

The ‘Little CEO’ programme, for example, will instil leadership, confidence and public speaking skills, while the ‘Little Engineer’ programme teaches the basics of coding, design thinking and logical reasoning.

There’re also other options like Little Entrepreneur, Little Chef, Little Philanthropist and Little Athlete.

Trehaus School is also an Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA)- accredited institution, which means local parents who enrol their children for full-day childcare are eligible to receive up to $300 in monthly fee subsidies.

At their new flagship space in Funan, Trehaus School is the bread and butter of it all.

Alongside it, parents can sign up for Trehaus Business Club to get access to the flexible workspace, or simply join the Trehaus Family Club if they simply want to enter the facilities and take part in programmes with their kids without working there.

The coworking segments are also open to SMEs and MNCs through a corporate membership, that allows companies to provide employees with flexible work arrangements and childcare benefits.
