Earlier in July, news broke that the first VidCon Asia Summit will be held in Singapore from 3-4 Dec 2019 at Raffles City Convention Centre.
VidCon is a popular online video convention founded by veteran YouTubers Vlog Brothers, and past VidCon events have drawn more than 100,000 attendees in the past year alone.
VidCon’s flagship event, VidCon US, held its 10th edition in California this year.
The upcoming pitstop in Singapore marks the event’s first foray into Asia, and will be held in association with the Singapore Media Festival hosted by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
Then, details were scant on who’ll be coming and what the agenda is, but programming was revealed to include “keynotes from industry leaders and workshops focused on growing audiences and revenue in the Asian online video marketplace”.
Unfortunately, VidCon Asia will not have signature “fan/community or creator tracks“, but “the goal is to add those in the long term”.
Lineup Of Speakers Revealed
Today, VidCon Asia unveiled the lineup of industry speakers and full agenda slated for this year’s summit.
The speaker lineup includes brand leaders like Tejas Apte (Unilever), Cheryl Goh (Grab), Sadaf Zarrar (The Coca-Cola Company) and Arthur Lang (Singtel International), creators turned media entrepreneurs like Wendy Ayche aka Wengie, Benji Travis, and Jeremy Jauncey, and technology innovators like Saurabh Doshi (Facebook), Ajay Vidyasagar (YouTube), Nicci Meek (Instagram) and Raffi Kamalian (CollabAsia).
This year’s conference agenda has also been released, and will feature more than 30 speakers across two days of keynotes, workshops, fireside chats and panels.
Said Jim Louderback, VidCon General Manager, said: “There are so many talented and creative individuals across Asia who are building great communities around their content – and building huge direct to consumer businesses as well. In addition, forward-thinking brands, agencies, and platforms are partnering with these amazingly unique creators to drive tremendous awareness, intent, and purchase behaviour.”
“If you want to learn how to build success as a creator or effectively partner with these new stars, you have to come to VidCon Asia!”
