Everyone’s probably already heard about the e-Tunai Rakyat incentive by the government where you can redeem RM30 starting today (January 15,2020) with one of 3 different e-wallets: Boost, Touch ‘n Go eWallet, and GrabPay.

For all 3 e-wallets, the RM30 incentive has to be used latest by March 14, 2020.

But now the question remains: which e-wallet should we be redeeming the RM30 from?

Based on the information gathered from good Samaritans on the internet who took the time to properly read through all the terms and conditions of each e-wallet regarding e-Tunai Rakyat, here’s what we’ve managed to verify and compile.

Boost

As long as you’ve upgraded to Boost Premium and verified your account, Boost is offering you the chance to “shake” for up to RM8,888, regardless of whether you’re eligible for e-Tunai Rakyat.

Some other offers they have are the Ang Pow challenge, RM1 Delicious Deals where you can get a bundle of treats from F&B merchants at RM8 (this saves you RM30), and RM18 Dazzling Deals where you get cash vouchers with no minimum spend. You can find out more about these offers here.

To claim the e-Tunai Rakyat incentive on Boost, you’ll need to verify your details by taking a picture of your IC and a quick video selfie.

If that sounds good to you, you can claim it starting today until March 8, 2020.

Pros: You don’t have to spend anything for the chance to shake.

Cons: For the RM8,888 “shake”, it’s really based on your luck, so winning large cash amounts is not guaranteed.

GrabPay

GrabPay gets a little more technical by dividing people who sign up for e-Tunai Rakyat into 3 different ‘tiers’: first 10,000 signups, 10,001 to 110,000 signups, and 110,001 signups onwards.

According to which ‘tier’ you fall under, here’s what you get alongside your RM30:

  • Tier 1 (first 10,000 signups) gets GrabPay Exclusive RM5 vouchers worth up to RM270
  • Tier 2 (10,001 to 110,000 signups) gets GrabPay Exclusive RM5 vouchers worth up to RM120
  • Tier 3 (110,001 signups onwards) gets GrabPay Exclusive RM5 vouchers worth up to RM30

Here’s a screenshot of what sort of rewards a Tier 2 user can get under the ‘Rewards’ section:

Pros: You get RM5 vouchers that can be immediately used.

Cons: Some vouchers will require a specific amount of minimum spend for you to use them (GrabFood included).

Touch ‘n Go eWallet

For Touch ‘n Go eWallet, users can get an exclusive bonus of RM30 alongside the RM30 from e-Tunai Rakyat, and even those who aren’t eligible for e-Tunai Rakyat can enjoy the bonus too.

However, the bonus RM30 comes with some terms and conditions. First of all, the cashback will come in 6 different transactions worth RM5 (which brings the total up to RM30 cashback), and you’ll have to spend a minimum of RM20 for each transaction (RM120 total).

On a clearer note, here are the 3 main things you should be aware of:

From now until March 10, 2020, you also stand a chance to enter The Big RM2 Million Weekly Draw to win a brand new Proton X70, Yamaha Ego Solariz, Huawei P30 Pro (256GB), and more.

Of course, that comes with its own set of terms and conditions which you can read up on in detail here.

Pros: You can get extra RM30 cashback.

Cons: You have to spend 6x RM20 minimum spend (RM120 total), and then get the RM30 cashback in 6 different transactions worth RM5 each.

To sum it up, here’s a table of the pros and cons for each e-wallet so you can figure out which one you can redeem your e-Tunai Rakyat with, if you haven’t already done so:
