Foreign worker levy waived for business in Singapore in April 2020
In this article

Heightened ‘circuit breaker’ measures announced last Friday will affect all workers broadly, including foreign workers on work permits and S Passes.

To ensure that employers continue to take care of foreign workers, Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat announced that the monthly Foreign Worker Levy due in April will be waived.

Employers will also receive a Foreign Worker Levy rebate of S$750 for each work permit or S Pass holder they employ, based on previous levies paid in 2020.

This will be disbursed as early as 21 April 2020 to ease employers’ labour costs as soon as possible, said Heng.
