In mid-April 2020, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), kicked off their annual 515 parties with a bang albeit this year with a twist.

For those not in the know, MLBB is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) mobile game that has amassed over 500 million downloads, and according to dotesports back in 2019, they have 75 million active players.

Last year, MLBB organised roadshows all around Malaysia, with fans witnessing cosplayers and meet-and-greet sessions with some of their favourite cosplayers.

Instead of cancelling their annual event, MLBB hosted the party online for players to join in and participate from the comfort of their homes. Thus the event became the 515 eParty.

Aside from the catchy theme song, they also organised several challenges and an online show-match between Malaysia and Singapore MLBB influencers such as MasterRamen, ly4ly4ly4, Sync, and Le Josette.

It is also worth noting that Sync and ly4ly4ly4 are members of team Resurgence, who were the Season 5 champions of MPL (MLBB Professional League). So undoubtedly, the SG team had two aces up their sleeves.

But, if you failed to tune in, here are some of the highlights of this year’s 515 eParty.

MY vs SG Influencer Showmatch

Match 1 starts around the 2:14 mark

In the first match, there was an epic moment where Soloz from Team Malaysia managed to sneak in the last hit on a Turtle, giving team MY a well-needed buff to withstand the onslaught from Team Singapore.

Sadly, it was not enough to prevent SG from nabbing a Lord which then helped them push into the base of MY, securing SG’s first win.

Match 2 was fairly similar, with SG securing their lead over MY with a 2:0 win.

There was a short break before Match 3 started, where MY had a comeback moment. This time they were fuelled by revenge and Match 3 ended with a 78 total kill bloodbath, and MY securing their first win against SG.

In Match 4, we witnessed a great team effort from MY at the end of the battle to wipe out all 5 of SG. MY was then able to take Match 4 with the help of a Lord sieging the base of SG, ending the 515 eParty Showmatch with a 2-2 draw.

At the end of the day, all parties enjoyed themselves and the viewers were excited at how Moonton, the creators of MLBB handled the eParty. A total of 130,000 viewers tuned in to watch their favourite streamers and MLBB personalities duke it out.

Challenge Winners Get Limited Edition Hero Skins

In a bid for everyone to showcase their different skills, MLBB issued several challenges to their players and fans. There were different activities such as the 515 Finger Dance Challenge, 515 Creative Music Competition and 515 Raya Art Contest.

Various hero skins, real-life monies and in-game goodies were given out to the winners of these challenges.

For example, the main prize winner of the 515 Finger Dance Challenge walked away with USD515.

Additional In-Game Gifts For All Players

But that’s not all they gave away.

As for those that did not feel like participating in the challenges, they were not left out. More than 200 in-game items were given out as well. Among the 200 in-game items, a new hero, Luo Yi, was also given out for free for those that logged into the game on May 16.
