To me, receiving or giving flowers as a gift can come off a little lazy.

Though they look pretty and may be worth an Instastory to show off how much you’re being cared for, they serve no practical use and eventually die anyway. It just seems like a waste of money.

What cemented this opinion of mine was when recently, I was given a fruit basket while sick and to my surprise, it lit up my day more than a bouquet ever could.

The few, decorative flowers it came with were a welcome touch, if only because they motivated me to recover before they dried out.

Because flowers serve no edible and nutritional purpose, perhaps you could consider giving someone fruits instead, and it’s now made so easy with a variety of fruit basket services available online.

For those in Klang Valley, here are 7 online stores that can get your fruit basket delivered to loved ones within the same day.

Out of all the options listed above, I believe Make Hay, Sunshine! would be my choice of a fruit basket service for its price and customisability.

Being able to choose what goes into the gift box would add a personalised touch suited to the person I’m gifting, especially if they’re into self-care and bath products.

The arrangement of flowers and huge fruits in the boxes are also extremely pleasing to look at, which I think would do the business well when it comes to word-of-mouth marketing on social media too.
