Khairy Jamaluddin posted a tweet earlier this morning about the MySejahtera app now allowing users to register their dependants for the COVID-19 vaccine.

However, this feature has first been rolled out for Apple users, though he assured that the update should be available soon for others.

Much like registering yourself for the vaccine, the process for registering your dependants is similarly convenient.

It’s located under the same tab you access (COVID-19 Vaccination) to see your own registration, and now you will see “Add Vaccine Dependent” under it.

That’s where you’ll be able to see a list of your dependants as you add them. Adding a dependant will require you to have their:

  • Full name,
  • Relation,
  • NRIC/Passport number,
  • Age,
  • Gender,
  • Current Address.

In terms of who you can register as a dependant, it includes spouses, children, siblings, parents/in-laws, grandparents, guardians, and others.

You cannot add a dependant who has already registered themselves for the vaccine with their own MySejahtera account, or on someone else’s account.

Furthermore, the dependant must be above 18 years old to proceed with the registration.

This feature was rolled out after complaints by the public that many of their elderly relatives did not own smartphones and therefore lacked a MySejahtera account to register for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The elderly take priority in the vaccination phases, and the update comes at a timely manner before the second phase of the programme that’s expected to begin in April.

A total of 68,003 people comprising 48,564 senior citizens and 19,439 people with disabilities have been targeted by the government to receive the vaccine in the second phase.
