Organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) is back for its sixth edition from November 8 to 12.

This year’s theme is the impact of Web 3.0 on financial services. As we know, Web 3.0 has collided with financial services, and the movement towards decentralised infrastructure continues to accelerate.

Just as the pandemic has changed all of our lives, the SFF will also be different. The first three days of the event will feature a hybrid conference and exhibition. On November 11 and 12, participants can attend global satellite events and industry events online and at physical locations.

With over 45 sessions covering designing, building and ensuring sustainable financial services for Web 3.0 featuring sharing from leading academics, practitioners and thought leaders, it’s bound to be a fruitful couple of days.

Earn a Web 3.0 knowledge certificate while you listen to speakers

Besides absorbing and basking in the knowledge of all the thought leaders, you’ll also be able to earn a verifiable, digital, Web 3.0 Knowledge Certificate in Financial Services issued by The Asian Institute of Digital Finance and National University of Singapore (NUS).

There are three modules that you have to complete and with a passing mark of 60 per cent.

All you have to do to enrol is top-up an additional S$10 to any digital pass — which is a bang for your buck — and complete the certification by 30 September 2022.

Upskill with curated masterclasses and SME day

The Singapore Fintech Festival is all about learning. A signature agenda of SFF you can look forward to is OXYGEN by APIX, held from November 11 to 12.

This platform provides carefully curated masterclasses and research content from industry experts dedicated to promoting worldwide knowledge sharing and certifications endorsed by leading institutions — think panels, podcasts, and research content.

There is also SME day held on November 11, where you will have access to a bespoke selection of key speeches, high-energy panels and relevant masterclasses targeted at updating and guiding small and medium enterprises through the challenging new normal.

Notable speakers

SFF always has an outstanding line-up of speakers, but they have “Mr Wonderful” gracing us with his presence this year. Fans of Shark Tank will know that you’ll want someone like Kevin O’Leary on your team when it comes to the world of entrepreneurship.

You can catch him at a fireside chat on November 9 at 8.30am. Other notable speakers would include Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, at another fireside chat titled ‘Market-changing Impact Series: Building the Value Exchange Layer of the Internet’.

Of course, I’m just scratching the surface of what SFF 2021 has to offer. There are a plethora of other speakers you can check out here.
