Supernewsroom & Intelectasia merge to become a PR tech startup with a pay-as-you-go model

If you work with brands, you know how important it is to get their names out to the public.

Supernewsroom, a name that Vulcan Post is no stranger to, has been helping brands and PR firms do just that for six years now.

It acts as an all-in-one PR platform where users can easily search for media contacts, send releases, invites, or pitches to the media, monitor coverage, and more.

The firm has been doing this with the backing of Intelectasia, a traditional PR firm. The partnership has now culminated in the two’s merging as one PR powerhouse—PubliCT.io.

“The rebranding to PubliCT.io is timely as we feel a single brand identity will help us streamline all our services and achieve greater brand visibility to serve our clients better,” said Manminder Kaur Dhillon, the founder and CEO of PubliCT.io.

Other than the name change, the team is also rolling out a few new features.

Publicity, reimagined

Offering full-fledged PR consultancy and end-to-end PR services, PubliCT.io claims to be the first “pay-as-you-go PR super app”.

What the PubliCT.io platform to purchase credits looks like

To explain that, you should first understand that the platform is integrated with an e-wallet. This enables users to purchase credits that are valued at RM2 each and can be reloaded when required.

According to the press release, the credits are only deducted from the user’s account once the content is accepted to be published by the news site, or used to purchase any of the services on the platform.

This eliminates the need for expensive subscriptions or startup costs to launch a publicity campaign.

Its new content marketplace also enables news sites to monetise through the platform by providing secured editorial placements for brands based on the press releases provided.

As such, PubliCT.io’s arrangement doesn’t only benefit brands, who can effectively select which news sites to get their story published in, but it allows news sites to monetise if they choose to publish the content, according to Manminder.

Speaking of news sites, PubliCT.io claims to have 3,000 media partners including Vulcan Post.

Gaining a competitive edge

In the press release, Manminder said, “We are confident that the all-new PubliCT.io will provide better value to our users and give us the competitive edge.”

According to Manminder, their platform has helped hundreds of companies from startups to global brands.

She also said that these brands have seen an average 10x return on investment in terms of PR value after engaging her team’s services.

“The team acts as the gatekeepers to ensure that the content that is shared with the media goes out with strong news value,” Manminder added.

From our experience as a long-time Supernewsroom (now PubliCT.io) partner, we know this to be a fact, as it lets publications maintain editorial control.

This lets brands get their story across while keeping it genuine, avoiding the overly “pushy” voice some PR releases have.

Now, PubliCT.io is in the midst of raising pre-series A funding to fuel its plans for market expansion and tech development.

This will fund additional features such as virtual press conference services and a communications talent marketplace.
