Avid followers and readers of Vulcan Post would have heard this already: when we published the third episode of Vulcan TV earlier this week, Zalora Singapore revealed that they are working on a virtual sizing app.

Let’s take a look at the third episode of Zalora on Vulcan TV again:

At the 6:28 mark, Zalora Singapore Marketing director Dione Song mentioned that they will soon be releasing a feature to help in virtual sizing.

So the problem that Zalora is trying to solve for its customers is this: no two brands have the same sizing metrics, so every single size chart you see online is customized based on that particular brand and their sizing metrics. This is especially true for most blogshops in Singapore.

Since Zalora carries various fashion brands under their umbrella, along with their own in-house brands, they will be launching an added feature that basically recommends you sizes based on garments you own.

The feature, called Virtusize is currently live on zalora.sg and it can be used when you wish to purchase a dress on Zalora. When you have found a dress that you like, you can click on the sizing details with an option to use the new Virtusize feature. Simply key in your measurements and then Zalora will recommend you the correct size to purchase.

This helps in reducing return orders and ensures that you get the correct size for the garments your ordered. Customers no longer have to worry about the hassle of returning wrongly sized clothing or wasting their money.

Currently, this feature is only available for selected garments on Zalora. Zalora will be rolling out this feature to include more apparels in the near future.
