One of the topics we cover a lot on Vulcan Post is the online shopping or e commerce vertical. Why? Because everyone loves shopping. And it is this reason too that there are a boom in the online shopping space in Singapore and Southeast Asia, with websites such as Zalora, China’s Taobao, Japan’s Rakuten, Qoo10 or even the recently launched Lazada all gunning to be the go to place for online shoppers.
Riding on this wave, a Singapore company called Globby wants to help anyone who wants to start a online store to easily get that up and running. Globby is a new online shopping platform for aspiring business owners who do not have any programming or designing background to create their online stores. Based in Singapore, Globby is just a phone call and a stone’s throw away should local users and merchants require customer support.
Globby’s web editing interface is streamlined to allow users to customize their website with ease. Globby’s system has many customizable widgets, drag-and-drop navigation bar editing that users can easily use. Several other features also come along with Globby: built in with the ‘Add to Cart’ function, the system is ready for products and services to be purchased off the website. You can also update your product details easily and the system alerts users when product quantity is low.
Other than having over 100+ brands and businesses trusting Globby to power their online storefront, Globby recently announced too that Kay Kay, a popular Singapore model blogger has come onboard to be brand endorser for Globby. She is the co-owner of popular Instagram store ‘mydreambag’, and will be working with Globby to expand her Instagram store over to the web.
Globby is started by CEO Abel Chua, who is only 22 years old and managed to build Globby with teams in Singapore and the Philippines.
Globby will also be launching an entrepreneurship contest, starting on the 26th of May, known as the Pyro Contest to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to start their online business. The contest is opened to everyone. To qualify as a contestant, they need to do is start an online business with Globby and generate the highest amount of revenue accumulated over a period of 6 months. The top 3 contestants would be awarded cash funding of up to $10,000 for their online business.
Definitely sounds like an attractive offer to me!
