2014 has been a great year of growth for Vulcan Post. It was just a year ago in December 2013 that we only had a total of 25,000 page views, three months after we published our first article. At the time, there were also less than 100 likes for both our Facebook and Twitter page.
Today, we are reaching well over 300,000 unique readers every month. We were also privileged to be one of the few Southeast Asian medias invited to the Apple iPhone 6 main event in Cupertino earlier this year. We recently launched our very own Vulcan Post Readers’ Choice Awards, which saw an amazing 3,000+ people voting to support their favourite brands and products in the first three days alone.
Our team has grown too and we have amazing writers not just from Singapore, but also Malaysia, Philippines and India. This progress is remarkable, but it is in the coming years that we aspire to grow even more to inspire our readers, realising our vision of helping everyone discover the latest mobile apps, websites, brands, and most importantly, human stories.
In 2015, other than introducing even more editorial columns and content areas, especially in Malaysia, we will be doubling efforts on our Vulcan TV series. Similar to when we first announced Vulcan TV in March 2014, 10 videos later today (shoutout to The Film Guys for being awesome!), we still believe that video is a better story-telling medium. We will also be announcing a few new initiatives that focus on readers’ engagement.
To fuel this growth and to be truly focused on our vision, we are really excited to announce that we have just raised a 6-figure financing round from Gushcloud. We share the same vision with Vincent and his team, and we are thrilled to be working alongside with them. Vincent brings a lot to the table (other than his charismatic personality), and we will also be leveraging on Gushcloud’s expertise in influencer marketing, content creation, and support from Gushcloud’s regional offices.
We have an exciting journey ahead and we’d like to thank all our great friends, partners and most importantly, our readers who have been supporting us all this while.
Personally, I know the editorial team is inspired every single day just by listening and telling great stories to our readers. And that is something we promise to keep doing.
