SingTel, one of Singapore’s main telco, has just launched a new mobile plan called Easy Mobile, that allows users to customise their mobile tariff plans every month to suit their needs and budget.

The new postpaid mobile plan allows customers to easily adjust their voice, SMS and data bundle according to four different tariff plans: Small, Medium, Large and XLarge. Customers can decide how many units will be allocated for their voice, SMS and data bundle, and they can tweak this every month to suit their needs.

“The one-size-fits-all approach of conventional mobile plans may not suit all customers, as their usage may vary from month to month. With Easy Mobile, customers can now tailor-fit their plans to exactly what they need, and adjust them as their needs change,” said Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, SingTel’s CEO Consumer Singapore.

Here are some other things to note:

  • The new mobile plan is currently open to new subscribers only, but will be rolled out to existing customers in the coming months.
  • All transactions and plan changes are made via the MySingTel smartphone app or the Easy Mobile website.
  • Monthly subscriptions start at S$33 for the Small plan with four units of combined voice, SMS and data.
  • Users must dedicate a minimum of one unit to data, SMS and talk time each.

SingTel has been very active in terms of providing value to its subscribers. Earlier in January, SingTel launches Singapore’s first prepaid mobile Facebook plan to its subscribers. In March, it launches Singapore’s first discounted mobile plans for seniors, which will enable those aged 55 and above to engage in online activities and social media, play games off mobile devices, or share photos and videos while on the move.

The battle for customer retention is definitely heating up. StarHub and M1, what’s your move now?
