Due to the proliferation of online shopping sites and product delivery platforms in Singapore, there’s increasingly a demand for an improved logistics and delivery service in the country. Everyone who has shopped online or has ordered something to be delivered would desire the products to arrive at their doorsteps within the same day itself.

This demand has spawn off a few on-demand courier services in Singapore. Have too little time on your hands and need someone to help you do some delivery for you? On-demand courier services such as Dilivrit has got you covered.

Other than Dilivrit, which is a mobile app, Netherland- based CarPal recently launched its service in Singapore as well to change the way local goods move around. Similar to Dilivrit, with CarPal, anyone can get any product delivered on the day of purchase. Or so it claims.

“CarPal’s mission is to become the on-demand delivery infrastructure for every major city in the world. CarPal’s revolutionary urban logistics and on-demand delivery platform connects customers with local couriers, who deliver goods from any office, restaurant or store in a city.” – CarPal.

The newly launched service contracts independent logistics carrier third parties to offer courier services. While most items can be delivered, customers may not send illegal or fragile items for delivery, or any items for which they do not have permission to send. Currently, the service is delivering for clients such as photo printing service PixaRoll. Delivery fees are determined by the distance and estimated time from pick-up to drop-off and the capacity of the platform.

Will it work?

With more and more online shoppers setting up their shops in Singapore, CarPal certainly provides an alternative delivery option for these businesses. While logistics is a big challenge for many companies, if CarPal manages to get it right, it might just be the next big brand to watch out for in Singapore.

According to Ian Tay, managing director of PixaRoll who also uses CarPal for its delivery needs, his experience with CarPal has so far been positive.

We were approached by other same day delivery startups. But the reason we decided to try out Carpal was that the founder was attentive and willing to help us find solutions to our needs. And our experience thus far has been positive, with good compliments from our customers.”
