At the Mobile World Congress 2015, Sony Mobile announced that it has launched a new mid-range smartphone and tablet – the Xperia M4 Aqua, and its latest tablet, the Xperia Z4 Tablet.
While the releases are a show of a focus towards their strengths – great cameras, great displays, and waterproofing that threaten to put competitors to shame.
We take a quick look at the two releases to see what we’re expecting at it’s launch in a few month’s time.
Xperia M4 Aqua
The Xperia M4 Aqua bears a striking resemblance to the Xperia Z3, but at a better price. According to Sony, it brings back its “signature Sony OmniBalance design”, and with a name like Aqua, you know it’s going to be a waterproof model.
It is also lighter at 136g, but with a solid plastic exterior that comes in four colours – White, Black, Coral, and Silver. It. It boasts a 2 day battery life, and – as you would expect from Sony – a powerful 13MP camera with F2.0 aperture and Sony’s own intelligent Superior Auto mode.
It will be launched in 80 countries worldwide in Spring 2015.

Xperia Z4 Tablet
The Xperia Z4 is said to be the world’s lightest and slimmest 10″ tablet to date. At a mere 6.1mm in width and less than 393g in weight (389g Wi-Fi / 393g LTE), it matches the iPad Air 2 size while beating it soundly with a body that’s 44g lighter, putting it in the running to be Sony’s best tablet offering and laptop substitute.
It comes with a full Microsoft suite, and a bluetooth keyboard that has a 0-130 degree tilt for adjustable comfort and laptop style touchpad. With 32GB memory, it can be your work companion while on the go, while the stunning 2K display makes it the best screen to watch videos wherever you want to.
And, as expected from Sony – it is also fully waterproof.
