One of the oldest industry in human mankind is dating. Everyone wants to love and be loved. As technology caught up, there are a lot of websites and mobile applications which allow couples to chat up one another or find potential partners.
If you are single, this Thailand based social dating app might be worth checking out. Known also as a Facebook for Thai singles, Avalable allows user to post their activities on a timeline and chat with each other using stickers. There is even a ‘Popular’ timeline where users with the most likes on their posts will get featured.
Other than being just another social network like Facebook, Avalable also actively introduce users to one another. The app sends daily matches to users based on compatibility scores, as well as interaction with other users. This feature helps singles locate compatible matches using GPS, “personality equations”, and an algorithm matching interests that are indicated on Facebook.
The app is available in 15 languages including Thai, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Bahasa Indonesian, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Korean, and of course, English.
Although the app has been launched for quite some time, there has been quite some negative reviews from its Android users.
So if you are an Android user, do manage your expectation before you download the app.
Other than Avalable, another app has also recently surfaced at Thailand, targetting at the singles in Thailand: Noonswoon. Noonswoon is a mobile app that matchmake singles with friends of their Facebook friends.
The simple mobile app creates a dating profile for you using your existing Facebook data, grabbing three of your most recent photographs, location, age and religious beliefs among other things. And then, as the clock strikes 12 noon (thus the name), it matches you up with a new member of the opposite sex whom you have a minimum of five mutual friends with.
Once you are matched, you have the whole day to decide if you want to talk to this person by clicking “like” or skipping by clicking “pass.” If the other person likes you as well, both of you can then chat with each other.
Both Avalable and Noonswoon are launched in the last year or so, and both are targetting the singles in Thailand.
Seems like there must be a lot of singles in the country.
