Venturing into the world of startups — or any business, for that matter — is no easy task. This is especially so given the highly competitive startup scene in Singapore and the region. Add to that the fact that we’re currently in a digital era — where a whole new set of marketing skills and knowledge is required to sell your product or service successfully — and you can bet there are more than just a few businesses out there who are looking for some help with managing and growing their fledging companies.

Thankfully, two local digital firms Digital Influence Lab and Resolute Labs have announced the launch of Digital Marketing Summit Singapore 2015, a two-day event that aims to arm startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the relevant skills they need to navigate the industry.

Some of the skills that participants will get to learn include Social Media Marketing, Web Optimization, Paid Advertising, Public Relations and eCommerce Knowledge. These will be covered in a series of TED-style Keynote speeches and Masterclasses helmed by noted individuals in their respective industries, such as:

  1. Fong Wei Li (Fortis Law)
  2. Sangeetha Ranganath (SingPost eCommerce)
  3. Felix Chu (Mobme Asia)
  4. Anna Rehermann (Growth Hacking Asia)

Some other speakers and companies include:

  • Anshul Jain – ThoughtBuzz
  • Brendan Yong – Empathi-SoluJons
  • Julia Tan – Mynewsdesk
  • Jason How – J Social
  • Ang Choo Wee – Social Video Lab
  • Puja Agarwal – Singapore Management University Faculty
  • Ruth Lim – Rave People LLP
  • Vicky Truong – Hootsuite
  • Tan Wei Ping – Resolute Labs
  • Rishi Gupta – MinemaJc
  • Vanessa Ng – ForJs Law

Digital Marketing Summit Singapore 2015 will be one amongst a handful of — if not the only — conference that targets startups and SMEs and provides them with actionable digital marketing skills. This means that content covered will be tailored to the concerns faced by industry players, and will be relevant to their needs.

Around 250 to 300 SMEs and startups are expected to attend the event. With so many fellow business owners slated to participate, attendees can look forward to hearing from not just experienced speakers, but also from their counterparts — a good chance to network, if there ever was one.

Event details:

Dates: 4 and 5 June 2015

Venue: Singapore Management University

Pricing:

Day 1 Keynotes: SGD 350
Day 2 Keynotes + Masterclasses (SME or Startup Track): SGD 650
